Dive Site: Middle Point, Isla Ladrones
Middle Point is a Panama scuba Diving Location accessed by boat close to Isla Ladrones, travel time is 40 min from Cala Mia Island Dive Resort.
This Isla Ladrones site is located literally in the middle of Isla Paridas and Isla Ladrones. Exposed to currents, winds, and swell. There is no structure over the surface, so we are able to arrive to this site only following its coordinates with a GPS. There is one large Gorge/Canyon where many hard and soft corals are distributed. In between the corals you can spot Lobsters, and Octopus. The experience of diving a gorge is unique as it is plankton rich so many creatures are drawn to it. The depth is 131ft/40m, visibility is 65ft/20m and temperature is 27-29 C/ 80-85 F. You can also spot Whale shark, White-tip sharks, Manta Ray, Spotted Eagle Ray, Almaco Jack, Golden Jack, Rainbow Runner, Chancho Surgeonfish, French Angelfish, Amberjack, and types of Puffer.

This Isla Ladrones site consists of a canyon with a sandy bottom where a mix of soft and hard corals are distributed within its walls. Sea turtles can be spotted, as well as many colorful coral fishes such as Spotted Rose Snapper, Blue Spotted Jack, different types of Morays, Panamic Porkfish, French and Queen Angelfish, Graybar Grunt, Moorish Idol, Pacific Boxfish, amongst others. This Isla Ladrones protected spot is a great diving opportunity for all levels of expertise. Featuring a shallow depth of 49ft/15m, and the good visibility of 49ft/15m is constant all year round. Temperature is around 27-29 C/ 80-85 F. The sandy bottom has a mix of rocks and hard corals. There are many Cortez Garden Eels, sea turtles, starfish, different types of rays, Spotted Rose Snappers, and Yellowtail Snapper. Many Sea urchins can be spotted too, as well as small coral fishes.

This Panama scuba Diving Location is exposed to currents and wind, with a rocky bottom covered in hard and soft corals. The main attraction is a huge flat rock that’s inclined towards a bigger rock. The space created by this inclination provides a safe atmosphere for different types of Snappers. Maximum depth is 121ft/37m, the visibility is 49ft/15m, and the temperature is around 27-29 C/ 80-85 F. It is common to spot Groupers under the rocks, and other creatures such as White-tip sharks, schools of Barracudas, and different types of Jacks.
